Jacobs has partnered with . and the , a 5G-enabled autonomous vehicle and smart living laboratory, to develop an immersive and advanced smart city program equipped with end-to-end smart solutions at Peachtree Corners, Georgia. The program aims to demonstrate the continued momentum of smart cities and spaces, serving as a reference point for what cities and municipalities can replicate as they look to deploy smart solutions and programs in their communities.

鈥淥ur unparalleled experience with innovative technology solutions, and wide-ranging capabilities across the solutions we provide, work together to provide Peachtree Corners an Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure,鈥 said Jacobs鈥 Critical Mission Solutions Senior Vice President Steve Arnette. 鈥淥ur collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies and Peachtree Corners forms a unique offering to meet the city鈥檚 requirements of safety, connectivity and interoperability.鈥

The program will focus initially on roadside infrastructure, traffic management and smart city verticals with the implementation of Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything technology, or C-V2X, the platform for vehicles to communicate with each other as well as everything and everyone around them. Working with Qualcomm Technologies, Jacobs will provide C-V2X communications solutions that will deliver capabilities to communicate directly with vehicles along Atlanta鈥檚 Technology Parkway corridor to enable advanced traffic efficiency and roadside safety.

鈥淚n addition to procuring, installing and testing IoT infrastructure, we鈥檙e leveraging planning experience to help Peachtree Corners realize its smart city vision,鈥 said Jacobs鈥 People & Places Solutions Senior Vice President and Regional Director Tom Meinhart. 鈥淔rom procurement to closeout, 杨贵妃传媒nd our partners work to improve safety and connectivity, while enhancing digital infrastructure and smart capabilities for the city.鈥

Jacobs will deliver a C-V2X radio system to provide a smart city IoT infrastructure through the planning, engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of Qualcomm Technologies original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) fixed and mobile radios. Globally compatible with 5G networks, the new C-V2X radios will provide connectivity between sensors, traffic signals, pedestrian crosswalks and connected vehicles.

鈥淭his C-V2X program with the Curiosity Lab and Jacobs demonstrates the ability to implement digital road infrastructure to optimize traffic and enable safer streets across global cities,鈥 said Sanjeet Pandit, Senior Director, Business Development and Global Head of Smart Cities, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. 鈥淭his project is paving the way as an example of what communities can replicate and I expect these advanced end-to-end solutions to be an integral part of future smart city and smart connected spaces rollouts.鈥

The Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners is a progressive smart city ecosystem, eager to deploy smart connected technologies in its community, bringing the region to the forefront in the development of next-generation IoT technologies.
