During England’s National Apprenticeship Week, we meet Jacobs Architectural Apprentice Sundeep Bhudia, currently studying the Level 7 Architectural Apprenticeship to achieve full qualification as an Architect. Jacobs was selected to operate and maintain the water treatment system in Jackson, Mississippi, by JXN Water, the entity responsible for ensuring reliable water service for citizens in the state’s largest city. This contract follows a short-term operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement that provided nearly 180,000 residents in and around Jackson with more reliable drinking water.

Jacobs was selected by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic, for a single-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to provide multimedia environmental compliance engineering support to the U.S. Navy and other U.S. Department of Defense installations globally, but primarily in the eastern half of the U.S., Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Updates to the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) P100 Facilities Standards in 2024 expanded the requirement to include “value ecosystem services” for GSA-owned buildings and building projects. Will it be an inflection point for greater sustainability in the federal building sector?
